TASK : Project Management, Design development, Construction drawings, Permits, Bidding, Renderings, Landscape etc.

Located near Ventura Blvd in Studio City, this ambitious project involved merging two residential lots to create a spacious compound designed for a family of six. The main challenge was to maintain the distinct identities of each lot while seamlessly integrating them into a cohesive design that adhered to property lines and setbacks, allowing for potential future separation if required. The scope included ground-up construction on one lot, encompassing a comprehensive landscape design featuring a pool and sauna. Simultaneously, the existing house on the second lot underwent extensive renovation, including a complete overhaul of the facade to blend harmoniously with the new construction while remaining inconspicuous.

The program includes a full basement with game room, bedroom, a common bath, storage, the ground floor with a living room, a guest kitchen, a separate front bed bath unit for privacy, a garage/ceramic studio, the second floor with a bedroom, office space, a children’s nook, guest bedroom. The landscape included an outdoor sauna, large outdoor dining, pool, and barbeque area. Throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design development to securing permits, my role was pivotal. I managed client meetings, ensuring their expectations aligned with project goals, while employing advanced 3D modeling and rendering techniques to visualize and refine design concepts. Detailed construction drawings were meticulously prepared to meet architectural specifications along with product procurement to ensure quality and consistency. Navigating the bidding process and obtaining all necessary permits underscored the project’s successful execution. Ultimately, the project achieved its objective of creating a harmonious and functional residential compound that catered to modern family living while respecting the individuality of each lot and adhering to stringent architectural and regulatory requirements.
